Also was heartbreaking as well as heartwarming. Love Stories of World War II intrigued me because my husband is a World War II veteran. The book was interesting, making history come alive from a woman's point of view.
Hearing the sweet love stories about whirl wind romances I loved it and have loaned it out several times. I loved this book. I was very surprised that it was compiled by Larry King, but it was so good.
Love Stories of WW IILoved it, and want to thank the contributors for sharingtheir intimate thoughts, letters, and love stories withus.
I thought she would glean some of the secrets of many of these couples. It is truly amazing. Not all were happily ever after.I like to give this book as a 50th Anniversary present because fifty stories are represented. Never knowing if they would ever see each other again.
My husband and I were staying at a fancy canyon inn in Arizona. It is the kind of book that every couple (any age) should read once a year. I gave a large print one to our local library.I gave one to a young lady who is trying so hard to make her marriage work. I spied this book on the shelf.
Their lives together of ordinary Americans. And who would ever thought that Larry King would compile such a book. My husband had to pry me out of the building because all I wanted to do was read this book. Allof the chance meetings, the length people went to be together even for a brief time.
You feel as though you know the individuals personally when you read their stories and you get this warm spot in your chest when everything comes together and works out for them during that time of war. This is a great book for all ages. I'm 22 and I obviously wasn't alive during WWII, but I still find the stories so very touching and romantic.
